Embracing the uncertainty has shaped me into who I am today

Hi, I’m Aleksandra (Aleks) born in Bosnia and Herzegovina, and currently navigating life at 31. My journey has always been about stepping into the unknown. At 22, I made the bold decision to leave everything I knew behind and move to Germany alone. I didn’t speak the language, didn’t know anyone, and had no idea what the future held for me. But deep down, I knew I had to take the leap.

Living in a new country was overwhelming at first. Every day felt like a challenge—learning the language, adapting to the culture, and building a new life from scratch. But those struggles shaped me. They taught me resilience, adaptability, and the beauty of starting over.

Then I met Lennart. His adventurous spirit mirrored my own, and together, we found a shared desire to step off the beaten path. It wasn’t long before we made a life-changing decision: to sell everything, leave behind the familiar, and embrace the unknown.

Lennart (31). I’ve always been drawn to the idea of exploration. Even as a teenager, I felt restless, craving something beyond the ordinary. Every time a holiday ended, I felt a lump in my throat—not just because the trip was over, but because the adventure had ended, and I yearned for more.

The sea and the mountains have always called to me. Standing by the ocean’s edge or atop a towering peak fills me with a profound sense of freedom and awe that’s hard to put into words.. My dream has always been to find those rare places where mountains meet the sea—a perfect harmony of challenge and peace.

For me, life is too short to save adventure for fleeting holidays. That’s why Aleks and I decided to write our own story, choosing a path where every day feels like a new beginning.

Together, we’ve embraced a life of discovery. It’s not always easy, and it’s far from conventional, but it’s ours. Every road we travel and every place we call home becomes a chapter in a story we're writing together. The stories where the horizon is our compass and the journey never truly ends.
